Uh-oh. The rumors are starting again.  The ones about Avril Lavigne and husband Deryck Whibley splitting up.  This time, the press is making a big deal about the fact that Deryck appeared out in public the other night but was hiding his left hand - with his wedding ring finger - in his pocket the entire time.  Now, this could just be because his hand was cold or that’s how he felt like walking around or some publicity for Sum 41’s tour/upcoming album and Avril’s new perfume.  It could also be that he really was hiding the fact that his wedding ring wasn’t on.  Who knows?  Anyway, here’s the picture:

Avril Lavigne was expected to be at the Napanee Ontario Multicultural Festival this past weekend…except Avril claims that she had no idea she was supposed to be there!  The controversy has apparently gotten so out-of-control that Avril had to release a statement regarding the whole situation:

Avril was not committed to attend the Napanee Ontario Multicultural
Festival. Her management had no knowledge of this event. She
appreciates the honor, however to say that she “flaked and didn’t
show up” is completely untrue, as she had no knowledge of this event
whatsoever. Avril is currently in the US working on her 4th album.

Well there you have it.  Also, it’s awesome to have confirmation that Avril is in fact working on her next album!

Deryck Whibley, Steve Jocz, and Cone McCaslin aka Sum 41 were at the Hoodwinked Festival in New Jersey on May 1, where they covered all Metallica songs in a tribute.  Here is their cover of Metallica’s “Master of the Puppets”.  According to Deryck (Avril Lavigne’s husband), the band was “a little drunk” when they performed this at the end of the show in the pouring rain.  Sounds like a recipe for fun! Avril Lavigne must have toured with the Black Eyed Peas back in 2005 when they were promoting their album “Monkey Business” because I came across this photo accidentally while looking thru some photos labeled “Black Eyed Peas”!  This photo was taken of Avril performing on stage in Milan, Italy at the very end of May 2005.  Is that her friend/original guitar player Evan Taubenfeld with her?

On Friday, we told you about Avril Lavigne’s wish for all of you to check out the new single from her good friend and former guitarist Evan Taubenfeld.  We did some digging and found this video of Evan singing an acoustic version of the single, “Boy Meets Girl” live on tour back in April.  So now you have to check it out!

Avril Lavigne updated her blog yet again, this time to tell everyone to check out her friend Evan Taubenfeld’s new single, called “Boy Meets Girl”.  Evan was Avril’s first guitar player and his done a lot of music videos with her.  You can listen to “Boy Meets Girl” on Evan Taubenfeld’s MySpace page, which is right here: http://www.myspace.com/evantaubenfeld

Attention Twilight fans!  We’ve come across this tribute video to Twilight actor Taylor Lautner, who plays the character of Jacob Black.  Jacob is the best friend of Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) and romantic foil to Edward Cullen (played, of course, by Robert Pattinson).  This video is set to Avril Lavigne’s song, “I Don’t Give”.  If you have any fan videos you’ve made on YouTube set to an Avril Lavigne song, send it in to us and we’ll be happy to play it on Avril Groupie!
