RockfreeFirst Avril Lavigne appeared as a character in “Celebrity Sports Showdown” now hubby Deryck Whibley’s band Sum41 is being used in a brand new free-to-play, browser-based music game called Rockfree.  The game is still in testing stages, but you can check out and play the preview version which was released online this past weekend.  It features Sum 41’s “Fat Lip,” Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man,” and Wolfmother’s “Woman”.  Click here to play it and then let us know in the comments section if you like it!

Rockfree allows players to create custom avatars, open their own rock club, upload new tracks, and battle against up to eight players online.  40 songs are currently being produced for the game, but only those three songs are available to be played right now.  Rockfree, published by Acclaim Games, is scheduled for release in early 2009.  The best part about it is that it’s totally free!
