This past weekend, Avril Lavigne participated in the 16th Annual Race to Erase MS gala.  The charity gala was held in Los Angeles, California to raise millions of dollars to support research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis (MS – a chronic neurological disease).  This eyar, the charity event was co-chaired by Nancy Davis and Tommy Hilfiger.  It raised more than $2 million dollars this year!!

The theme was “Rock to Erase MS” and had performances by Michelle Branch and the Eagles.  Also in attendance was Angie Harmon, Amanda Bynes, Dustin Hoffman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Penny Marshall, Sela Ward, Bill Maher, Anne Heche, Teri Garr, Jewel and Kim Kardashian.

Congrats to the organizators of the event!  $2 million is awesome to raise, especially in this awful economy!
