Here’s a great From The Vault for you guys this weekend.  This has got to be from at least 10 years ago - if anyone knows the exact date, please let us know!  In this video, Avril Lavigne sings,“Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” by Deep Blue Something, “Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore?” by Kane Roberts, a bit of “Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy and some of “Ms. Jackson” by Outkast. What do you guys think?

Back in 1997-1999, there was an all-female festival that played in North America called the Lilith Fair.  It was created by singer Sarah McLachlan and a few people that I know saw it (I was told by my parents that I was too young to go) all said that it was a lot of fun.  Well, it’s coming back!

In 2010, the Lilith Fair will be doing a two-week tour in Europe.  Although it’s still too early for announcements on who will be playing, McLachlan and Avril Lavigne are names that have been consistently thrown around in speculation.

…Which brings us to our second bit of news: Avril is officially expected to release a brand new album in 2010!  That’s right! New music from Avril is still a year away, but it’s coming!

Returning to Lilith Fair for a moment, previous performers included Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Dixie Chicks, Erykah Badu, and the Indigo Girls.

If you’re a fan of “The Office” (American version), then here’s a fan video of Pam and Jim set to Avril Lavigne’s song, “Girlfriend”.  It’s not bad, it captures all the sweet “Jam” moments and plays a pretty kick ass power ballad by our gal.  Check it out:

This post was originally supposed to share an Avril Lavigne playlist that’s going around called “The Softer Side.” However, when we went to copy the playlist from one of the music sharing sites it was available for download on, we got a BIG VIRUS WARNING! So if you come across the option to download an “album” called “Avril Lavigne: The Softer Side” DO NOT do it! If anyone wants to contest us on this warning, then leave it in the comments section, but from our experience, it’s just a sad way for someone to use Avril’s music to spread a virus.

Wow, we think that we like this version of Leona Lewis’s cover of “I Will Be” alllllmost the best - though nothing can beat Avril Lavigne’s original version, this performance of it comes pretty darn close!  It starts off nice and slow and picks up in the middle.  We’re still waiting for the official video with Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford but this is good for now.  What do you think?!?!

Where is the new video for Leona Lewis’s cover of Avril Lavigne’s song, I Will Be?!  The video was shot in New York City in December 2008 starring Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford and reports indicated that it would be released last week, but there’s still nothing!  Is anyone else as curious as we are to finally see this video?!  What’s with the delay?  Come on, Leona, out with it already!

We’re actually starting to get a little bit excited to see how the video for Leona Lewis’s cover of Avril Lavigne’s song, I Will Be is going to turn out.  The song will be Leona’s 3rd U.S. single off of her album Spirit.  The video, which was shot in New York City in December, stars hot Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford.  It isn’t out yet but the press is sure buzzing about it still!  Apparently, Leona thinks that Chace is “super talented” and calls him “one of the nicest people I’ve met.”  In fact, we’ll just post for you the entire section in Leona’s blog post in which she talks about making the video for “I Will Be”.  Ready?  Here goes:

I also sang ‘I Will Be’ on Letterman which was a treat for me and then I shot the video for the song in the same week. I can’t wait for you to see it, it’s so different from my previous videos. I got to shoot again with one of my favourite directors, Melina who I luv and I’m really proud of what we’ve created. I also got to work with Chace Crawford, who is one of the nicest people I’ve met, super talented and he’s in one of my new fave series’ Gossip Girl.

Gossip Girl is one of OUR favorite TV series and “I Will Be” is one of our favorite Avril songs AND we think that Leona is gorgeous and like what we’ve heard from her so far, so let’s hurry up and get that video out!!  Oh, and click here to check out Leona singing the song on The Late Show with David Letterman.

As you know, Leona Lewis will be releasing her cover of Avril Lavigne’s song, “I Will Be” as the third U.S. single off her debut album, Spirit.  She filmed the video last week in New York City with Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford and has now begun the talk-show circut.  Here’s Leona singing the video live on The Late Show with David Letterman last week:

Avril Lavigne and husband Deryck Whibley’s wedding song was Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls.  That’s just one of the reasons that this great duet by Avril & the Goo Goo Dolls is so special!  This is one of our all-time favorite songs and Avril sounds awesome on it!  Give it a listen and let us know what you think!

Leona Lewis will release her cover of Avril Lavigne’s song “I Will Be” as the third U.S. single off of her first album, “Spirit.” And get this!  “Gossip Girl” hottie Chace Crawford (Nate) will be appearing in the music video!  In the video, Leona gets arrested and Chace is allegedly the one who bails her out.

The singer met the actor as a party a couple months ago and became friends.  Leona personally invited him to be in the video.  A source says he even has several speaking lines!  If you’d like to hear how the two songs match up, click here.
