Uh-oh. The rumors are starting again.  The ones about Avril Lavigne and husband Deryck Whibley splitting up.  This time, the press is making a big deal about the fact that Deryck appeared out in public the other night but was hiding his left hand - with his wedding ring finger - in his pocket the entire time.  Now, this could just be because his hand was cold or that’s how he felt like walking around or some publicity for Sum 41’s tour/upcoming album and Avril’s new perfume.  It could also be that he really was hiding the fact that his wedding ring wasn’t on.  Who knows?  Anyway, here’s the picture:

Deryck Whibley, Steve Jocz, and Cone McCaslin aka Sum 41 were at the Hoodwinked Festival in New Jersey on May 1, where they covered all Metallica songs in a tribute.  Here is their cover of Metallica’s “Master of the Puppets”.  According to Deryck (Avril Lavigne’s husband), the band was “a little drunk” when they performed this at the end of the show in the pouring rain.  Sounds like a recipe for fun! Deryck Whibley was in Russia last week with his band Sum 41 to play at the Muz TV Awards.  The paparazzi caught up with Deryck without wife Avril Lavigne (she stayed in town to shoot a commercial for her clothing line Abbey Dawn) at L.A.X. (Los Angeles’s airport) as he was returning home.  Here’s a picture of Deryck carrying his own luggage!

Avril and Deryck rank #73 on the list, which ranks celebrities based on four categories: Success, Attractiveness, Popularity, and Staying Power.  Zimbio.com has used real numbers and stats to get these rankings, looking at things like how much money a couple earns, how many magazine covers they are on, Google search numbers, horoscope signs, etc.

Avril Lavigne and husband Deryck Whibley attended the birthday party for Riley Keough (Elvis Presley’s granddaughter) the other night.  The party was at El Cid nightclub and filled with celebs.  Though we do have one question: If Riley turned 20 years old, she’s not legally allowed to drink in the United States, yet her birthday party was held at a club in Los Angeles, California.  Huh.  Go figure.  Those crazy celebs and their disregard for the laws!

Sum 41 - Deryck Whibley (husband of Avril Lavigne), Cone McCaslin, and Steve Jocz - are adding two more shows to their July 2009 tour with the Offspring.  The first show is on July 12, 2009 and is part of the “WHRL Big Day Out” radio festival in Saratoga Springs, NY.  The second new show is a headlining show on July 15, 2009 at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC.  For more information, go to www.sum41.com.
