In an end-of-2008 blog post, the Jonas Brothers listed Avril Lavigne as something they were thankful for in 2008!  Here’s what they wrote about Avril:
Our first opportunity to tour outside the US. WE opened for Avril Lavigne in Europe. It was a great opportunity to meet people from all over Europe.

MTV is weighing in on the Miley Cyrus “topless pictures” controversy.  The editorial piece talks about other young female celebrities who are “good girls gone bad.”  Among that list are:

Britney Spears – Broke free of her Mouseketeer past with the “…Baby One More Time” Catholic-schoolgirl video, the provacative Rolling Stone cover at age 17, and rumors of breast implants.
Christina Aguilera – Also shed the Mouseketeer image with “Genie in a Bottle,” the sexy lingerie in the “Lady Marmalade” video, nude Rolling Stone cover, and of course the entire album that was Stripped – topless cover, tattoos, piercings, & all.

Avril Lavigne will be among the artists who are getting live tributes at the Kirkland Lake Festival’s Homecoming Pub at the Civic Service Stadium in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The concert will be on July 1 in honor of the festival’s free,l outdoor Canada Day concert. Along with Avril, others who will be honored with live tributes are Miley Cyrus, KISS, The Pussycat Dolls, Bryan Adams, and Hilary Duff (haha, Avril & Hilary are both being recognized at the same time!).

Hilary Duff is on the cover of next month’s Allure magazine and she had some things to say about fellow young celebs Lindsay Lohan (of course), Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana), and Avril Lavigne! Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” was voted Favorite Song at Nickelodeon’s 2008 Kids’ Choice Awards!  Other winners include Miley Cyrus for Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Female Singer, the Jonas Brothers for Favorite Music Group, and Chris Brown for Favorite Male Singer.  Drake & Josh won for Favorite TV Show and Drake Bell was named Favorite TV Actor.  Congratulations to Avril and the rest of the winners!
